There are many choices for when searching for video cameras, miniDV, DVD, Hard drive, HD, and SDHC.Don't get lost in the alphabet soup of acronyms when looking for the best video camera, all these camera types serve basically the same purpose; record your memories. MiniDV, Digital8 and DVD record video to either tape or DVD these mediums are easily stored and the user can keep the original. Hard Disk cameras and Memory Stick Cameras record to files stored on mediums with limited space. When the hard-drive is full files must be removed to keep recording. These formats are great for editing but requires an additional step for preserving the original master recording. I am partial to miniDV video cameras because once the editing is complete I can remove the file from my computer and the original is still located on the tape it was recorded. |
